What is Creighton? And What is it NOT?
Creighton is a system that is safe for women in ALL stages of their reproductive life--from first period to menopause. It's highly scientific and clinically proven. It is NOT taught to students and unmarried women as a contraceptive; instead, we use this powerful tool as a way to empower young women in their gynecological care and to appreciate and respect their God-given fertility.
More Than Just a Band-Aid
Oftentimes, artificial contraceptives (including the Pill, IUDs, and shots) are prescribed to solve problems like irregular periods, acne, and PMS. These methods don't actually fix anything--instead they just put a Band-Aid over the underlying problem! Creighton has an entire medical branch called NaPro Technology that is specifically designed to get to the true root of common--and not so common--gynecological issues and fix them at the source.
Part of Your Natural Living
You tote along your water bottle, you try to eat organic, and you watch what chemicals you put in your body, so why would you take a "medication" that the World Health Organization has classified as a Class IV carcinogen? Natural methods of family planning and fertility appreciation aren't just morally healthier, they're also significantly healthier for your body and your relationships (but more on that later...). And besides, wouldn't you look silly buying hormone-free chicken otherwise?
Easy, Simple and Free
Once you've learned the basics of the Creighton method, observing takes no extra time and charting takes no longer than it would to pop a pill at the end of the day. Really! Classes are offered one-on-one by the Newman Center Director and are offered at no cost to students.
A Choice that Respects Women
Think about it: are men ever told that their body's natural rhythms and processes need to be medically repressed? Of course not! Feminists all over the world are choosing natural methods of family planning and fertility appreciation because they know that fertility isn't a disease and their bodies aren't broken.
Custom-Made for You
Unlike artificial contraceptives, the Creighton method recognizes that women have a wide variety of gynecological needs--and also unlike artificial contraception, it responds to YOU. Have super long periods? Super short ones? Irregular ones? Ovarian cysts? Polycystic ovarian syndrome? Creighton works with you! And if there's a problem, we'll get you hooked up with a NaPro doctor--that's Creighton's medical branch--and they can solve or manage any gynecological issue you can think of!
A Choice for the Future
You want to get married and have kids eventually--but now's not the right time. Learning Creighton now helps you understand your cycle, become confident in the system, and avoid the long-term infertility that follows coming off hormonal contraception. Plus, the divorce rate among couples who practice natural methods of family planning is practically zero and couples consistently report greater marital satisfaction, better communication, and more frequent intimacy (no kidding!)

Creighton FertilityCare Practice
at the Newman Center
So often, part of a young woman's regular preparation for college includes a prescription for artificial birth control with promises of shortened periods, easier cramps, clearer skin, and a "more exciting" social life on campus. But these promises fail to mention some very real and extremely serious side effects:
increased risk of cancer
heightened risk of blood clots
suppression of natural bodily processes (including depressed libido)
loss of control of one's procreative health and wellbeing,
and the spiritual and emotional side effects of giving in to the hook-up culture
Here at the Newman Center, we are pleased offer a healthier, church-approved alternative to artificial contraception: the Creighton Method of natural family planning and fertility appreciation!
